Friends and family, you’re in luck! No one is being forced to buy a bridesmaid dress or a best man tux, and we’re not registering anywhere!
Nate and I want for nothing except your presence. Well, Nate wants a multi-function printer, but that’s not really an appropriate wedding gift.
We’ve highlighted the main locations for Friday and Saturday of that weekend. For out-of-owners, you’ll fly in to the Charlotte-Douglas Airport. There are two main towns near the wedding festivities: Hickory and Blowing Rock.
The town of Blowing Rock is closer to the Chapel and Reception and it’s up the mountain (so it’ll be cooler in October), and it’s less than 2 hours from the airport. However, it’s completely charming and has an adorable and busy main street area. The leaves will be changing and the mountains are absolutely beautiful.
The town of Hickory is about an hour closer to the airport so it’s more convenient, and the downtown area is very sweet and easy to walk around. Most hotels are off I-40. A possible suggestion, depending on when you arrive, is to stay a night or two in Blowing Rock, then move down to Hickory the night before your departure date to be closer to the airport.
